April 2023

Update to Pilotage Fee

With effect from 1st April 2023 there has been an increase to the both the pilotage fee and the boarding and landing fee in line with the annual rate of inflation and in compliance with the Pilotage Regulations 2016. Subsequent increases to the fees will occur annually on 1st April. The new fee structure can be found here.

April 2009

New Boat Service Fee

With effect from 1st April 2009 the boat service fee is being increased to £100. The new fee structure can now be found here.

Final Call for QE2

On 14th November 2008 Queen Elizabeth 2 made her final call at Gibraltar en route to Dubai where she will be berthed at a specially-constructed pier at The Palm Jumeirah, the world's largest man-made island, to create a luxury floating hotel, retail and entertainment destination.

Launch of new Website

After 3 years of service, the Gibraltar Pilots have finally re-designed their old website, into the new design you see before you. The new site features the history of the Pilots, extensive service information, details on the boats used and a news page showing all the latest updates in the harbour.

HMS Superb visits Gibraltar

HMS Superb paid a visit to Gibraltar this month and Gibraltar Pilots were tasked to bring the vessel alongside. All the Gibraltar Pilots are 'Admiralty Approved Pilots', a requirement for this class of vessel.

Halmatic 35s built by VT Halmatic in the United Kingdom arrive in Gibraltar after extensive sea trials.
